Secretary-General Letter

Hello delegates, and welcome to HenryMUN session IV! My name is Melbourne Romney, and I will be serving as your Secretary-General for this year's conference, along with my wonderful Secretariat and staff members. This year's HMUN conference will take place on February 17th and 18th, 2024, at Patrick Henry High School, for a wonderful weekend of fruitful debate and a raging revolution over the future of South America. This year we will be hosting four committees, with three in the General Assembly and one Crisis. We have chosen to prioritize committee quality over committee numbers, so although there are fewer options, we hope the wide range of insightful agenda topics satisfies all of our delegates’ interests. I am so excited to see what this year’s delegates have to offer and hope you all get to explore your own interests and passions. I also hope HMUN can serve to broaden your horizons to new topics and experiences you never considered for yourself. Be that simply raising your placard for the first time, or going after a delegate’s country in your opening speech, we look forward to seeing what you all have to offer. When I’m not running around like a coffee crazed maniac I spend my time hiking, volunteering for local environmental groups, and playing disc golf. I also love just enjoying a good cup of coffee and some Taylor Swift music. On behalf of the entire Secretariat, welcome to HMUN session IV and we are so excited to serve on your behalf!
